March is busy at the Chalet. In fact there is very little availability this month. In March we see a lot of families on Spring break late in the month and the retired people early in the month. Skiing/snowboarding is a great sport for the entire family, parents kids and grandparents. Once everyone is on the same level, it’s truly a pleasure to get out on the slopes with everyone.

Snowmass Village will once again celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. For a full schedule of events on Saturday, March 17th, go to: http://www.snowmassvillage.com

With Presidents Day and Mardi Gras over, many families are headed back home. What a busy time we have had in Snowmass. Lodging will filled to capacity everywhere. When these two holidays meet during the same week, it seems there are more school breaks. Kids were everywhere!

March is just around the corner and is even busier than February. There is very limited space left at the Chalet so call now if you have not booked your reservation!

Snowmass has many activities planned this month. Here’s what you can look forward to:
This February, Mardi Gras celebrates 25 years by adopting New Orlean's adage "Let the good times roll." But it might as well be a motto for the entire month! From the 5th annual Poker Run and a free concert with The Samples to the start of Bud Light Big Air Fridays and The Ski Tour stop, Snowmass' event calendar sizzles. Don't forget to stop by the beautiful new visitor center for information or visit the Artisan and sample their new breakfast menu. From breakfast to big air, Snowmass just has more.

Upcoming Events
Feb. 16: Start the weekend off right at the first in a weekly series of 2007 Bud Light Big Air Fridays competition, where regional athletes huck their best moves off a 40-foot jump, followed by music & fireworks.
Feb. 18: The 5th Annual Snowmass Rotary Club Poker Run fundraiser invites card sharks to circle Snowmass, while the Bud Light Hi Fi Concert Series offers a free concert by The Samples on the Snowmass Village Mall.
Feb. 20: Snowmass celebrates 25 years of Mardi Gras mania with a packed day of fun including a costumed uphill race, parade, bead throw, Cajun food, mask-making and kids' carnival, drink specials, prize giveaways, and more.
Feb. 22: The hottest new skiing event in the country stops in Aspen/Snowmass as part of its four-stop tour. Check out the skier cross and superpipe competitions in Snowmass, a live music festival in Aspen, and the best skiers in the nation competing for a total purse of $500,000.

Welcome 2007! We are having our first big storm for 2007. We woke up to about a foot of snow this morning and it has brought smiles to everyone’s face – that isn’t trying to get in or out of here anyway. Denver of course is getting hit again with snow too. They are NOT happy about it. They prefer the snow stays in the mountains as well. Keep doing those snow dances as in the mountains; there is NEVER too much snow.

Winterskol is coming up. To check out the full schedule of events for this annual event, go to: http://www.aspenchamber.org/CEvents-Calendars-Special-Events-Winterskols-55th-Anniversary-Celebration-pl1241.cfm

The Winter XGames are at the end of the month. Space is getting very tight throughout the valley for these dates so if you plan to come out, you better book now! For a full schedule of events go to: http://www.expn.go.com/xgames/wxg/vii/

Here in Snowmass Village, we have snow, but this last storm seems to have missed us. Guests trying to get in/out of the area are relieved. It’s wonderful to go on a ski trip but blood pressure rises as each flight is cancelled or delayed. For those traveling through Denver, go to this site for updates. http://www.flydenver.com

We received an abundance of snow these past few days. The hill will be waiting to all of the skiers and boarders next week. It’s going to be a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!

If you are looking for a white Christmas, give us a call at the Snowmass Mountain Chalet. Snowmass Village has white slopes, brightly lit with holiday cheer. Santa and carolers strolling will be wondering the Snowmass Village Mall and Christmas lights twinkle throughout the Village:

Event Schedule:
December 11: The Silvertree Hotel's annual Community Open House and Loving Tree Dedication includes Santa, complementary light fare, and holiday entertainment.
December 14: Featuring an art exhibit, luminary-lit studio walks, and festive goodies, Anderson Ranch's Holiday Open House is the perfect chance to meet resident artists and purchase original artwork.
December 15: Celebrate the festival of lights at The Silvertree Hotel's Chanukah Celebration with a menorah and plenty of dreidels and gelt.
December 21-24: Santa's magical village opens on the Snowmass Mall with the big guy himself posing for free pictures with the kids, plenty of treats and Waldorf Revelers singing favorite Christmas carols. John Sommers and Twirp Anderson serenade guests in The Silvertree Hotel lobby.

We've received an abundance of snow these past few days.

December 23: The annual Torchlight Parade down Snowmass' slopes is magnificently luminous, and families with kid’s ages 8 and older are invited to participate in this trail of light down the mountain.
December 24: On Christmas Eve, Santa stops at The Silvertree Hotel to read holiday tales before a roaring fireplace.

The hotel is almost ready for our Thanksgiving guests. The guest rooms look great. We think you will really like our new look! We are looking forward to seeing everyone again as we host our 7th Annual Thanksgiving Day celebration and dinner.

Some area activities happening are:

Nov. 25-26, Aspen
Sirius Satellite Radio Aspen Winternational Audi FIS Women’s Ski World Cup
It sounds like a mouthful but promises an eyeful when the fastest women in the world head to town for two days of Giant Slalom and Slalom competitions. Aspen/Snowmass is the only place on U.S. soil to see such American faves as Olympic Gold medalist Julia Mancuso, Lindsay Kildow, Resi Steigler, and Stacey Cook compete.
Comedy at the Cabaret

Nov. 24, Snowmass
Need a good laugh? The Silvertree Hotel presents Louis Johnson and Steve Gastineau in a hilarious evening for adult’s age 21 and older. Comedy at the Cabaret is the perfect antidote to the rubber legs you'll incur from your first day out on the slopes.

This year the SKI magazine readers ranked Snowmass as the #3 best resort in North America! There is so much to do on and off the ski slopes. This year the new Gondola opens adding more excitement to the ski/snowboarding experience. We have had several snowstorms in September and October giving us a head start to the season.

At the Chalet, we are working hard to finish the remodel. We are ahead of schedule and will be looking forward to the winter ahead.
